Build Your Own Homecoming Mum or Garter allows you to customize your Homecoming Mum or Garter the way you like it. A Mums and Kisses Original, and our most popular product! Customers love that they can design their own and we do all the work. Another cool feature is that you control the price. if you’re wanting to design your own, or want something very unique to you, then this is the one for you!  You will be able to select EVERYTHING from start to finish from your name ribbons, activity trinkets and garland, your grade, bells, even your own colors and a TON more. You’ll also be able to add on additional items like glitter, boas, lights, extra jingle, (bells),etc. We do offer Build Your Own Mega Mums as well on our Mega Mum Page

Q: Why does the price change after I get to the checkout page?

A: As you build your mum you will be adding things to your liking. The price will increase as you add things to your mum. The prices are based on per item instead of per mum like the designer mums and garters. This IS a more expensive way to go, there’s no secret in that. If your cost gets high, you may choose a designer mum to stay on budget. Homecoming only comes once per year. The decision is all up to you!

Q: If I order today, how long does it take?

A: You Tell Us! Use our “Need By Date” calendar in the order form below. Select your delivery date If the date isn’t selectable then choose the Rush or Urgent option this will move the date up sooner. If your date still isn’t selectable then call us to see if we can get you in.

Q: The size options only let me choose up to a triple mum, I want to order a Quad or Mega Mum, can I do that?

A: The Mega Mums options are located on our Mega Mum page. The build your own mum is for garters and mums that are single, double and triple heart

Important: We organize orders by your “NEED BY DATE” not the date we receive them.

For Pick Up Orders: (DFW ONLY) We are located in Crowley (southwest Ft Worth) please note this when ordering.  NOTE; For Pick Up Orders Your Need By Date Date IS Your Pick Up Date.

For Shipped Orders, we will ship using your preferred method. Please allow us 48 hours to process and make your order + shipping time in most cases excluding rush orders.

For Rush / Urgent Orders – We charge a fee for rush orders and urgent orders. This fee will make your order a priority and move you up the list. The Rush and Urgent fees are NOT shipping fees, this is a labor fee we use to pay our employees overtime to make your order. Shipping in Texas takes 1-3 days via UPS Ground. You may upgrade shipping to 2nd day or overnight, which is not part of our free shipping offers.

NOTE: If you’re ordering on a Thursday, and your homecoming is Friday, your Mum will NOT reach you in time (even if shipped over night) to make it to you to wear to school / mum exchange etc.

    You may choose shipping if you like, However, if you are within 30 miles of Crowley Texas, we urge you to choose pickup. We have noticed over the years that shipping 30 to 500 miles away goes very smoothly however shipping just 30 miles or under tend to arrive later than UPS advertises. Be safe and pick up if you're close.

    Every year our phone lines are clogged with the questions below, saves time, anxiety etc 

    1. Need By Date - This is the date YOU have selected above. It will be your pickup date or arrival date if shipping. REMEMBER:
      •  Please make sure you've accounted for exchanges (giving the item to the girl or guy) AND that most students wear their mum to school on the day of the Homecoming game (usually Friday). You do NOT want your need by date to be the same day you want to wear it.
    2. IMPORTANT - PLEASE DO NOT CALL ASKING WHERE YOUR ORDER IS UNLESS YOUR ORDER HAS NOT ARRIVED BY THE NEED BY DATE. You are in charge, you select your need by date, If you need your order sooner, then CHOOSE a sooner date! Every minute we are on the phone is a minute more you and everyone else has to wait for their orders. Please track your order on our site BEFORE calling.
    3. Making Changes - If you need to make a change to your order, after your order is in the cart, click on "EDIT OPTIONS" in the cart. Also you may view your selections in the cart by pressing "Additional Options" 
    4. Stock - For any out-of-stock items, we will substitute an item of equal or greater value,
      • Rush/Urgent orders may not have some items available in the time frame you've given us, we will substitute items as needed.

FAQ For the Build Your Own Homecoming Mum or Garter

Q: What's the difference between Designer and Build Your Own?

A: We offer two starting points for all our mums, The Designer are the versions that Mums and Kisses have personally designed, they're all inclusive and the price is set. They include everything you need and offer extras for those that choose them. The designer mums are personalized and the price is included in the mum. To choose a designer mum, note the mum size, single double triple etc first. Then choose your accent color, gold or silver, click on gold or silver then you'll be able to choose your school colors on top of the color accent you chose and follow the order form from there to personalize. The Build Your Own Mums are just as they say. You can build your own from scratch by telling us exactly what you want from the ground up size color, accent etc. We allow you to choose every option we offer, you choose what you like and we build it for you from scratch. Designer Mums are probably going to be cheaper to buy than the build your own. We are transparent in our pricing, and tell you that if you are on a budget, it is best to choose a designer (all inclusive) mum.

Q: If I order the Build Your Own Mum or Garter, how long does it take?

A: All the mums EXCEPT the Mega Mums take 1-2 days to make and standard shipping is 2 days. So in MOST cases, 4 days total from ordering to arrival. However the Build Your Own Homecoming Mums and Garters DO Qualify for Rush Ordering, just indicate the Rush in the order form below. If you're local, you can save 2 days by using local pickup.

Q: The size options only let me choose up to a triple mum, I want to order a Quad or Mega Mum, where can I do that and how long does it take?

A: The Mega Mums, like all of our mums are carefully handcrafted and take about 5 day - 7 days to complete on the normal. Add 2 days for shipping and your estimated time of arrival is 7 - 10 business days from date of ordering . If you need it sooner you can do a RUSH for an additional $25.00, expedited shipping, or local pick up for faster arrival times. Click here to order a Mega Mum.
